Be a Hero at the Big House

Be a Hero at the Big House on Sunday, October 9th by signing up to donate blood, join the organ donor registry, or join the bone marrow registry*. This is our largest event of the year and a chance to see Michigan Stadium from the luxurious Jack Roth Stadium Club.

Blood donations count towards the 40th annual Blood Battle competition. You don’t want to miss the largest single-day blood drive on the University of Michigan’s campus.

Important: In order to protect our immunocompromised guests and volunteers, masks will be required at this year’s event. Vaccinations are required for volunteers and highly recommended for attendees.

In alignment with Michigan Medicine's policy, all Michigan Medicine volunteers must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 in order to volunteer. For information on vaccines and where to access them, click here.

Can't make it to Be a Hero? Schedule a blood drive appointment between 10/27/2022 and 11/23/2022 to help us beat OSU in the annual Blood Battle competition! Visit www.redcrossblood.org and enter sponsor code "goblue" for a list of participating drives. 

*At bone marrow donor registry drives, we focus on recruiting new registry members ages 18 to 40. This is based on medical research that shows younger donors are best for patients and provide the greatest chance for transplant success. Because of this, doctors request donors in the 18 to 40 age group over 90% of the time.

If you are between the ages of 41 and 60 and want to join the bone marrow registry, you must do so online. You will be asked to make a $100 payment to cover the cost to join.
